There are two subspecies in this group. Sugar Candy Orchids have larger, pink tinged white flowers and taller, more robust plants while Pink Candy Orchids have smaller, more pink flowers and shorter plants.
Caladenia hirta subsp. hirta - Sugar Candy Orchid
The Sugar Candy Orchid has white flowers with a hint of pink colouring. It is found between Dongara and Albany, extending out to the western edge of the Wheatbelt. It is the larger of the two subspecies, with taller plants and larger, more numerous flowers. It also flowers later in the year.

The Pink Candy Orchid is found throughout the Wheatbelt in a variety of habitats and is very common. It has smaller plants and flowers and the flower colour ranges from almost white to deep pink. It will occasionally hybridise with white spider orchids where the two are found together (see below).

The Tinged Spider Orchid is a hybrid between the Pink Candy Orchid and one of the white spider orchids. It is distinguished by pink tinged flowers with longish petals and sepals - halfway between the short petals of the Pink Candy and the long petals of the white spider orchid.
