These two species are very distinctive with a smooth, dark red tipped labellum that points forward before curling down. They are found a long way apart, however. The Funnel-web Spider Orchid is found mainly between Dunsborough and Augusta, while the Granite Spider Orchid is known from a handful of locations east of Albany. Both species have the unusual habit of growing in rough coastal scrub within metres of the sea. The Funnel-web Spider Orchid is the larger of the two with yellow-green flowers up to 10cm across on stems up to 50cm tall. The Granite Spider Orchid has smaller, paler flowers up to 6cm across on stems up to 30cm tall. Flowering occurs from October to November.
