This orchid is similar to the White Spider Orchid, but is easily distinguished by the red-tipped labellum and the much larger flowers. As the common name suggests, this orchid has the largest flowers of all the Spider Orchids and can reach 30cm long. This is measured from the tip of the dorsal sepal to the tips of the lateral sepals. The dorsal sepal is often so long that it droops over. This orchid is not common and is listed as threatened flora.
