This unique orchid is easily identified and can reach over 80cm in height with up to four flowers per stem. It is widespread across the south west from the coast to the eastern wheatbelt growing in a large variety of habitats. Like many greenhoods, non-flowering plants produce a small rosette of leaves close to the ground while flowering plants do not have a rosette and instead have alternating leaves up the stem. It flowers from August to September.
