Week Six a – Bible Verses for Reflection and Prayer

Historically it can be seen that there has always been wrong doing upon the earth.  Some people are kind and considerate and not given to doing wrong things to others, whilst others appear not to have kind feelings or a conscience about the impact of their wrong doing to other people, who are many times innocent.  It is also true however, that no matter whether a regular doer of good or bad deeds, no human person can be called holy and pure as is God, and all goodness comes as a gift in trust from God.

God loves us all and is merciful toward the good and the bad, and longs to bring us to a place of walking in His image.  Ezekiel 36:26 – 28 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statures, and you will keep my judgments and do them.  Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.”  I am thankful for the many promises given to the wicked, erring Israelite nation, that have application and promise to each of us, as erring people upon this earth right now.

Because I appreciate Gods mercy and goodness, my mind is lifted to heaven in praise, because I have been helped so much by reading and claiming Bible promises on a daily basis.  God cannot lie, and will not deny the promise within His words, when they are believed and claimed.  Psalm 147: 11 “The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.” Psalm 146: 3-4 “Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is not help.  His spirit departs, he returns to earth; in the very day his plans perish.”   God Himself says that no earthly created person can in any way equal the God of heaven.  It has taken numbers of years to understand how  mankind and the earth around us is put together and works; and we are told not all is known to scientists at this point; and no one can replicate the elements used in creation and put them together into a life form.  Isaiah 40: 25 “To whom then will you like Me, or to whom shall I be equal?”  Then God asks His readers to look for the evidence of His creation, V 26 “Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing.”

Isaiah a prophet in one of the significant troubled times of the Israelite people, calls on them to trust God, for He has the credentials, and a proven history of help and restoration to those who turn from their wrong ways and call out to Him.  Isaiah 40: 28, 29 “Have you not known?  Have you not heard?  The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.  His understanding is unsearchable.  He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”  V 31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”  So many need all from God that is promised in these findings and God revealed knowledge related by Isaiah.

Thankfully God never leaves us to flounder or trying to find Him or His will for us each individually or as a group.  It is good that there is recorded in scripture records of someone asking for help down the right pathway, and God doing so.  Psalm 25: 4, 5 “Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths, Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.”  Moses is another case of being accepted by God and led as leader of a rebellious difficult people; with the wonderful promise that God Himself (“My Presence”) would go with Moses.  But more than that, he was to be given rest, even whilst on his difficult experience.   Exodus 33: 13, 14 “Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight.  And consider this nation is Your people.  And He said, ‘My presence will go will you, and I will give you rest.’”

Please open our hearts and minds God, that those who need to, will forsake their wrong doing, and everyone will put their lives and concerns in the care of their God and Maker.

I believe Your promises, and give You thanks for hearing my prayer, and know Your Spirit will go with me on life’s pathway, and I will be given Your peace, throughout my earthly journey.
