Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

Dear God,

I praise You for all creation that is softly glowing just outside my window, just now.  The skies are a little darkening, following a fall of misty rain, enclosing the different birds, calling and chirping in their happiness.  All of which enhances the various green hues of tree, shrub and bush, with glowing white, soft yellows, amber, peach, apricot and deep pink, in a proud display of their petals atop and around each individual rose bush.

Thank You for this healing view that greets me today and I really appreciate all You have created, and are creating and maintaining each day.  Only You as God can create and care for each life.  I ask for the wisdom and strength of the Holy Spirit, so that I will never take for granted, Your loving formed creation, which sadly, has been much defaced by Satan’s influence, and the lack of care, we of the human race have shown toward Your handwork. Sadly not to care for Your creation with respect has sometimes included me.  I am sorry for that.

I know that during all my life time I am alive physically by Your creative powers and grace. You want for me to be Your witness and blessing to others, today and each day, and so bring You glory.  Thank You for this privilege and enabling.

Today as Paul did, I know I do not live for myself or without witnesses, which is why he tells us to run our Christian race, free of any ‘weight’ and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.  Hebrews 12:2 tells me (us) the only way this can be done, is by “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  For me (us) Jesus gave all of Himself, please keep me focused upon Him, acknowledging with my whole heart what He has done for me, and of my great need and insufficiency, apart from Him.  Jesus in His life and ministry before the giving of His life, put all else aside and revealed Gods glory and the healing wisdom, love and peace that comes from heaven.

Thank You again Jesus, that as my Shepherd and example, it is You who all the while gives me inspiration.  We have You to thank, that even though the Holy Spirit had always moved upon the hearts of people, He was sent as a Comforter after the Your death to lead me (us) to God the Father, and to enable me (us) to live a true Christian life.

Amen
